Bidjar is the name of one of the small Kurdish villages in the northwest of Iran. However, it is also the name of the heaviest and (in relation to thickness of yarn) the most densely knotted of all Persian rugs. Antique Bidjar carpets are very rare and highly valued by collectors. Our price, only a small part of the price that would be asked in the best galleries in London or New York. Condition of carpet is very good, there are some very minor lower pile areas (NO wear) is almost imperceptible when you look at it. Also minor damage fringe, all of this is shown in the photo. |
