Bidjar is the name of one of the small Kurdish villages in the northwest of Iran. However, it is also the name of the heaviest and (in relation to thickness of yarn) the most densely knotted of all Persian rugs. As the knot density varies between 300.000 to 500.000 knots per m2 (200 to 325 KPSI), it is simply not possible to achieve a higher degree of density using this thick kind of yarn. The ability of the knotter to beat the rows of knots until the rug ia as compact as an oak plank is astounding. This means you will never see a Bidjar rug worn out through normal use - no matter how old it is.
This carpet has a very high knot density - 500.000 per sq.m (325 per sq.ft.).Perfect condition. Bidjar carpets are cost a lot of money, but we offer even slightly lower than the wholesale price!!!
